Week 8: Keep Believin’, Day 2: Those Who Believe

Today’s Treasure: “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

God is a faithful God; Numbers 23:19 tells us that God is NOT a man that he should lie. God always acts upon His spoken word.

We have so many examples of faith in the Bible, esp. Hebrews 11:1-39. Examples such as Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Rahab, the prophets, women, and others. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. We must believe even when we don’t see!

Let’s look at the faith of Rahab…Hebrews 11:31, "By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient." This woman's faith was ...

~Saving faith – not only was her body delivered from the sword, but her soul was delivered form sin
~Singular faith – she stood alone
~Stable faith – she stood firm in the midst of trouble
~Self-denying faith – she risked her life
~Sympathizing faith – She did not believe for herself only; she desired mercy for her family
~Sanctifying faith – Did Rahab continue a harlot after she had faith? No, no, she did not; for Salmon the prince of Judah married her, and her name is put down among the ancestors of Jesus Christ. She became a woman well-known for virtue, walking in the fear of God

Women of God, what an example of faith we have in Rahab! Let’s look to her as we cultivate our personal faith in God.

Only believe!
