Week 3: Greatest of These is Love, Day 5: Agape in Action

Today’s Treasure: ““A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)

My focus scripture: “If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.” (1 John 3:20)

What an awesome assurance this is for us! Our hearts may condemn us and convince us that we are ‘only human.’ We must remember that God is greater than our hearts.

God is greater than our hearts because He is ever willing to accept us as Christ has done—even though we personally bring Him blemished offerings in our life's experiences.

God’s love is so amazing! He showed us His agape by sending His only Son to die. Oh how He loves us! Is all I can say (sing). As we have completed this lesson on the fruit LOVE, let us love others as God has loved us. Let us SHOW love to others as God has shown His love to us. Love IS an action word!

The foundation of our worship is understanding the width and length, height and depth of Christ’s LOVE.

Ephesians 3:16-19, “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
